After 20 years in fine dining (including as the executive chef of Armani Ristorante 5th Ave) chef Roberto Deiaco has created Avena, which Women’s Wear Daily says is “Reinventing Midtown Dining”
Deicao grew up on a farm in the Dolomites in Northern Italy and every dish is prepared with fresh, seasonal choices in mind, blending traditional cuisine with modern twists. Standouts like Crudo di Mare, Zucchini Risotto, and Black Truffle Ravioli draw heavily on the local fare from his childhood and are served in a rustic chic atmosphere. Our personal favorite is the UVO, gorgeous oversized ravioli’s filled with a perfectly intact runny yolk, surrounded by a ring of ricotta.
Experience the generosity of a true Italian host with Avena’s aperitivo. During happy hour, complimentary bites are served, offering guests the chance to experience a tasting menu at a fraction of the cost.
For those looking for a high-end dinner experience at a great price point, the culinary curator at Avena will customize a six-course tasting menu for $75 per person, with the option of a $55 personalized wine pairing.
Avena features a cozy fireplace and separate bar service, perfect for engagement parties, birthdays, baby showers and family gatherings.
