Today, Earl Sweatshirt is teaming up with award-winning filmmaker Terence Nance to share a new short film. “Nowhere, Nobody” is co-directed by Nance and Naima Ramos Chapman, and brings Earl’s critically-acclaimed new album to life. Nance, who also directed the renowned HBO late-night series Random Acts of Flyness, turns his vision to the complexities of Some Rap Songs, reimagining the album’s challenging concepts in full scenes starring Earl and others.

Along with the short film, Earl is also announcing his North American tour where he’ll be joined by MIKE, BbyMutha, Na-Kel Smith, LIV.E and Black Noi$e. Set to begin with a performance at New Orleans’ BUKU Festival on March 23rd, the expansive run will see Earl and friends play 31 shows across the continent before concluding on May 6th in Atlanta.

Some Rap Songs is Earl’s first full-length project since his critically-acclaimed 2015 sophomore album I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside and marks his venture into a new sonic space. Including the previously-released singles “The Mint” ft. Navy Blue and “Nowhere2go,” the new album finds Earl reflecting on his life and music to date, showcasing the latest stage in Earl’s sonic and personal evolution. Across 15 songs, the prodigious rapper offers a challenging, insightful account of his maturation as an artist and a person, propelled by personal changes he’s made over the last several years.
