A former American Idol contestant has been arrested in Virginia on felony drug distribution charges. Antonella Marie Barba was charged in Norfolk with alleged distribution of more than 100 grams of heroin, online jail records show.
The 31-year-old singer appeared on season 6 of the reality singing competition in 2007. She reached the top 16 before being eliminated. Jordin Sparks eventually won that season of the show. Antonella Barba was arrested on Thursday and she remains in police custody. She’s scheduled to enter a plea on Monday when she appears before a judge.
