Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms held a press conference to officially announce the 20th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration to be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Atlanta Symphony Hall during the upcoming Super Bowl LIII week. Various representatives from the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee, players and officials from the NFL, Boys & Girls Club of America personnel and television and radio personality as well as co-host of the event, Rickey Smiley, were all in attendance.
Founded by Atlanta native, Melanie Few-Harrison, The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will feature music heavy-hitters, Kirk Franklin, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, The Winans, the Super Bowl Gospel NFL Players Choir and other performers to be announced later. Few-Harrison promises that the celebration will not only inspire but will also be an event that the city will not soon forget.
Former NFL players, Olrick Johnson, Cameron Newton, Bryan Scott, and Terence Stephens gave the audience a taste of the musical talent that members of the NFL Players Choir will bring to the celebration while co-host Rickey Smiley confirmed that there will be humor and a great time for everyone in attendance.
