JAY-Z and Beyoncé have had a lot bubbling on their minds over the past few months and its apparent with the release of their new collaborative single “Ape Sh*t.” The song is aptly titled because that is completely how they went, (ape sh*t) both lyrically and in the video. The couple calls out everyone and everything regardless of political correctness.
Jay-Z unleashes on the Grammys following that stuff they pulled at the awards this year, he rhymes, “Tell the Grammys fuck that 0 for 8 shit.” and to the NFL, he rhymes “I said no to the Super Bowl/You need me, I don’t need you/Every night we in the end zone/Tell the NFL we in stadiums too.”
“Ape Sh*t,” is taken from the couple’s newly released album Everything Is Love. In a song called “Nice,” Beyoncé goes in on Spotify, “If I gave…two fucks about streaming numbers woulda put Lemonade up on Spotify. Fuck you.” In a song called “Friends,” Jay references Meek Mill’s imprisonment and so on. The album is a must hear body of work and possible the couple’s magnum opus up till this point. Put short, the album is a great work of art.
