British Country-Soul Queen Yola Drops New Album “Walk Through Fire” Produced by Dan Auerbach

Today Yola released her debut album Walk Through Fire to widespread critical acclaim. Yola celebrated the release jamming with Dan Auerbach in the studio live on Facebook and play’s Nashville’s Grimey’s tonight and Analog @ The Hutton tomorrow. She also announced she will be heading to SXSW festival with an official showcase and will also play at Luck Reunion alongside Mavis Staples.

Yola has gone from living homeless on the streets of London to joining British band Massive Attack, winning the praise of James Brown and now to Dan Auerbach’s recording studio in Nashville with legendary session musicians and writers who have worked with the likes of Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin. She grew up in poverty, was banned from making music as a child and has overcome experiences including being literally engulfed in flames in a house fire, which inspired the album’s title.
