Brooklyn based rapper Casanova was reportedly indicted yesterday (Oct 10) on alleged robbery charges. According to the New York District Attorney’s office, Casanova allegedly “forcibly stole property” and instilled fear in the victim, Niya Rucker. According to court papers, Casanova and Bobby Williams were eating at Good Stuff Diner in New York back in August and believed they were being filmed by Niya Rucker. They then allegedly attacked her and took her cell phone from her.
Subsequently, Casanova and Bobby Williams turned themselves in and were indicted for robbery, coercion and Williams is charged separately with strangulation. Casanova and Bobby Williams have since denied the charges. Casanova is due back in court in December, his attorney, Scott Leeman released the following statement.
“Casanova adamantly denies the allegation that he assaulted anyone,” Leeman said. “Any contention he did so is totally false. We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into these false allegations.”
