British star, Ella Mai’s professional recording career is off to a splendid start. Her self-titled debut album is the No. 1 album on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart this week with 69,000 units sold. The 16 song album released on DJ Mustard’s label 10 Summers Records, has also become, Ella’s first number one album on the charts. In addition, the album has made Ella the first British artist to top the U.S. R&B chart in 26 years.
With Ella Mai’s debut album and her previously released singles dominating the charts, including her earned plaques, there is a buzz in the industry about a potential 2019 Grammy nomination awaiting the British star.
