Everyone says all good things must come to an end. That quote now applys to the entertainment website Concrete Loop.

On March 12th, Angel Laws shocked fans by publishing an open letter on her website that she has decided to close the site down indefinitely.

The entertainment website started in November 2005. Since then, it has become one of the most talked about and most searched entertainment websites across the world, especially towards African-Americans.

I didn’t know how far it would bring me, said Laws. It started as a hobby with 5 dollars a couple days before my 21st birthday. During that time, I was struggling with self-esteem issues, depression and was having difficulties adapting to new surroundings. Little did I know that more than 8 years later it would help mold me into the strong confident woman I am today.

It’s not hard to believe that Concrete Loop became of the entertainment websites that you just couldn’t wait to see what they posted. In a world where there are a variety of entertainment websites, Concrete Loop became a stand out on it’s on. Whenever you would wake up in the morning or taking a break from work in the middle of the afternoon, Concrete Loop was probably one of the first three websites you wanted to visit when you turned on your computer. People couldn’t wait every day to read new stories regarding celebrity spottings, release of new music by our fellow artists, movie reviews, etc. In many ways, it became the Gossip Girl for African-Americans.

Concrete Loop not only brought some amazing people in my life, it has afforded me some one of a kind and life changing opportunities. I’ve opened a business, wrote a best selling blogging book, been invited to the White House, spoken on numerous prestigious panels, interviewed and met countless celebrities and most importantly was paid to do something I loved to do.

I always said I would continue to do this until it was no longer my passion and that day has come. I took awhile to think about it and without getting into too much detail, I have decided to close the site down indefinitely.

Concrete Loop, you will truly be missed.
