Corey Samuel Roche’ is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought-after fashion stylists for his cutting-edge style. He works with a vast clientele ranging from Carmen Electra, Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Porsha Williams, Marcus Scribner and many more.
Corey is a lead stylist on the daytime talk show “The Real”. In addition, his work has been featured in countless television shows, feature films, music videos and print ads. Prior to styling full-time, Corey obtained an M.B.A. and enjoyed a lucrative Fortune 500 corporate career, which he eventually left to pursue his passion for fashion.
Roche’ spoke exclusively to the Von Boozier Twins about his favorite fashion trends, Advice for up-and-coming fashion stylist, and his new projects with Lifetime and WeTV networks.
Name the top three things in your styling kit that are must-haves?
CS: Needle and thread, double-sided tape and fishing wire.
What do you do to prepare yourself for an upcoming shoot?
CS: My assistant and I write out a checklist alongside the treatment to ensure that I am ready for whatever may occur.
How do you stay updated on the current trends?
CS: A large part of being a stylist is researching your craft through fashion houses and shows, trend alerts set with the designers I enjoy via social media in addition to constantly 3 daily cycles through the worldwide web. Lastly I compile mood boards of things that I enjoy based on clients silhouettes.
How did you prepare for a career in styling?
CS: My styling career is quite unconventional. I did not receive institutional training. I have a double Bachelors and a MBA degrees. After leaving a directors level corporate position, I used the tools provided in my educational journey at Tennessee State University and started with 3 internships. I also began to research what I needed to know to succeed in addition to taking sewing, textile and pattern making courses.
How would you describe your signature look?
CS: Classic chic with a twist.
What are your favorite trends this season?
CS: Mod is in and I’m really into it. I also enjoy that dramatic lines are coming back into play.
Describe your “I made it moment”
CS: When I received my first check signed by Warner Brothers Entertainment lol.
If you could choose any Celebrity to give a style make-over to who would you choose and why?
CS: Gabbourey Sidibe. Just because you’re a curvy girl doesn’t mean you can’t be fly.
What advice would you give the up-and-coming fashion stylist looking to enter the business?
CS: If your dreams don’t scare you, then they’re just not big enough.
What song would you say sums up your life at this moment in time?
CS: So Amazing by Tye Tribbett.

CS: NCIS New Orleans Star Shalita Grant.
