Katy Perry in a excerpt released from her deposition which was unsealed yesterday (AUg 27), stated that she was not raped by music producer, Dr. Luke. The document which was released is based on her testimony in Dr Luke’s defamation suit against Kesha, who accused him of raping her.
Katy Perry got involved in the case because Kesha said Katy was also raped by Dr. Luke, according to his attorneys.
Below is an excerpt from Katy Perry’s deposition.
“Did Dr. Luke ever rape you?” an attorney asked.
“No,” Perry replied.
“Did Dr. Luke ever sexually assault you?”
“Absolutely not.”
“Did he ever give you a roofie?”
“No.”
“Did you have a sexual relationship with Dr. Luke at all?”
“No.”
“A romantic relationship?”
“No.”
In another part of the deposition, Katy Perry states, “I couldn’t pick him (Dr. Luke) out of a crowd.”
Other documents revealed includes emails in which Kesha’s representatives, Vector Management’s Jack Rovner and Ken Levitan, discuss a plan to “ruin” Dr. Luke, and “take down his business.” This planned press campaign was dubbed a “jihad.”
Dr. Luke’s attorneys issued the following statement on Monday, “The false narrative Kesha created about being raped became widely accepted, damaging Dr. Luke’s reputation irreparably.” He continued, “There is nothing worse than abuse and sexual assault. Dr. Luke supports any woman or man who seeks to address sexual abuse in the legal system. That is not what happened here. It is also horrendous to falsely accuse someone of a heinous act.”
