Last week Lil Wayne dropped some flames in the form of “YFS” (Young Fresh & Shameless) off of DJ Stevie J’s “Appreciation 9” mixtape. Turns out though that the song is not simply the random rantings of a rap genius but an ode to the street wear brand of a very dear friend.
Anny Taormina, Owner/Creator of the Young Fresh and Shameless line, says she was shocked when her phone started blowing up after Weezy dropped the song. Her pal has been rocking her gear very publicly for some time now but he had kept the whole thing quiet. “When I met Wayne a few years back, we instantly connected. Something transpires when you meet someone who shares your same energy and the ability to live life as your most authentic, shameless self.” she shares. “I’ve grown up on Wayne’s music and indomitable style. He embodies the freedom of individual belief, and that, I fuck with heavily. It’s the craziest feeling to know that I inspired the Best Rapper Alive to create his new new hit track, YFS, named after my brand and my Young Fresh and Shameless life.”
And it’s not just Wayne that love rocking Anny’s gear. Young Money’s Hoody Baby is also a fan.
