Today, multi-instrumentalist and producer lophiile is releasing his new EP. To Forgive arrives via historic Jazz label Blue Note Records, with campaign creative direction by Brooklyn-based creative label No Tricks. The eclectic EP delves deeper into the spirit of lophiile as an artist, enlisting vocal contributions from Jamaican-American artist Jesse Boykins III, UK-based artist Sophie Faith, and American R&B singer NSTASIA. To Forgive includes previously-released single “You’ve Changed” and follows his work as a member of contemporary R&B trio Radiant Children, who released their debut EP TRYIN’ in 2018.
The EP opens the door to the next stage of lophiile’s career as he solidifies himself as a torchbearer for a generation of producers melding jazz, hip-hop and R&B sounds. In line with his vision for the project, each of the EP’s five songs offers a distinct tangible experience in the form of an accompanying visual art piece.
To Forgive arrives ahead of lophiile playing two shows in New York City and LA respectively as part of Blue Note Records’ 80th Anniversary. The celebration includes a collaboration with watchmaker G-Shock and features special performances from lophiile alongside Kendrick Scott in New York on February 21 at Up & Down, and with Charles Lloyd in LA on February 28 at Los Globos.
