Luke James Drops New Single Called “These Arms” – Listen Here!

Grammy®-nominated singer, songwriter and critically acclaimed actor Luke James, who wrapped up season two of Lee Daniels’ Atlanta-based television drama series Star last week, releases his brand new single “These Arms” today on Island Records. Luke spoke to fans in regards to the song saying, “I just came to boogie with the best of them.”

Luke James, whose careers as a musician and actor complement each other, released the über-sexual single “Drip” last summer 2017. Earlier in the year, he starred as singer ‘Johnny Gill’ in the BET mini-series, The New Edition Story. In September, Luke joined the cast for the second season of Star, follow-up to the mega-successful Empire series also created by two-time Academy Award-winner Lee Daniels (Precious, Monsters Ball). It was recently announced that Luke has been picked up for season three of Star for his role as Noah Brooks.

In tandem with his success as an actor, Luke’s debut single as a solo artist, 2012’s “I Want You” earned him his first Grammy Award® nomination, for Best R&B Performance. A second Grammy Award® nomination for Best R&B Performance followed in 2014, for “Options” featuring Rick Ross. Before setting out on his solo career at Island, Luke’s impressive list of writing credits included tracks with Justin Bieber (“That Should Be Me”), Chris Brown (“Crawl”), and Britney Spears (“Kill The Lights”), as well as Keri Hilson, Brandy, and others.
