Meek Mill Has Been Denied Early Release From Jail – Details Here!

Meek Mill’s plea to be released on bail while he appeals his 2 to 4 year prison sentence has been denied. The judge in his case Genece Brinkley, reportedly ruled that he should be held without bail while he awaits the appeal of his prison sentence because of his drug use, arrests and other issues when he was released on probation in the past. The judge who had come under fire from the #FreeMeekMill movement, his team and lawyers said in relations to those claims, “This court has impartially and without prejudice presided over numerous proceedings in this matter since 2008, long before his current counsel became involved one week before the violation of probation hearing. None of the allegations by (the) defendant constitute evidence that this court is unable to act impartially and without personal bias or prejudice with respect to this matter.”

There was high hopes that Meek Mill would have been released this week. Especially after a statement a few weeks ago made by Philly’s DA that Meek deserved to be released on bail because his original conviction may be partly or completely reversed.

Meek Mill’s, attorney Joe Tacopina, on the other hand stated, “The ruling reaffirms the fact she has turned Meek Mill’s case into a personal vendetta.” What he is referring to among other things is the arresting officer and some other officers were kept off the witness stand by the prosecutor due to a reported credibility issues. Also, because people charged with violation of probation or parole are normally sentenced to 6 months to 12 months in jail not 2 to 4 years which is the sentence Meek Mill received.
