NASCAR Celebrates Black History Month and
Honors Dion Rocko Williams #Team24
As Nascar prepares for its Superbowl race this Sunday at the Daytona 500, client Dion Williams of Jeff Gordon #24 Hendrick MotorSports will be honored Friday at the 7th Annual NASCAR Diversity Awards Luncheon before the Daytona 500 with the NASCAR Diversity Award Pit Crew Member Award held at the Daytona International Speedway.
Like many of the pit crew members in NASCAR, Dion ‘Rocko’ Williams comes from an athletic background. Williams was a star linebacker at Wake Forest University before going pro with the Minnesota Vikings. He began to look for work outside of football after a career-ending injury. He began his professional career in 2004, and in 2010 joined Hendrick MotorSports to pit for Jeff Gordon. Williams is also known for his participation in a 2010 episode of CBS’s television program “Undercover Boss,” which featured NASCAR’s Executive Vice President and CMO, Steve Phelps.
