Roc Nation’s Nicole Bus Tops Billboard With Hit Single “You”

Soon after Billboard featured Nicole Bus’ “You” as having made a notable jump on their “Emerging Hip Hop” chart, Roc Nation is pleased to announce that the Dutch-born and raised singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist takes the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Adult R&B Songs” chart in front of H.E.R., Queen Naija, and Chris Brown.

“You,” heralded by Rolling Stone, has also been championed by hip hop luminaries such as Rick Ross and Ghostface Killah who both lent their talents to remix the song.  In addition to the “Adult R&B Songs” chart, “You” is currently Top 20 (#19) with a bullet on Billboard’s “R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay” chart.

Joining a host of chart-topping artists performing at this year’s Essence Festival including Mary J. Blige, Nas, and H.E.R.,Nicole Bus has just been added to the festival’s “After Dark” stage on July 5th.  In addition, she has recently announced performances during the Femme It Forwardtour joining Cardi B, City Girls, and Teyana Taylor on May 25th in Syracuse, NY and May 26th in Saratoga Springs, NY, the coveted Hot 97 Summer Stage on June 2nd and an WBLS Harlem Week performance on July 27th.

The retro-vibed visual for “You,” directed by Daniel Iglesias Jr., adds depth to the track produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Needlz. The songstress emits raw emotion and nostalgia with her soulful blend of hip-hop, reggae, and R&B backed by Wu-Tang Clan’s classic “C.R.E.A.M,” with the original sample taken from The Charmels “As Long As I Got You.” Poetic, powerful, and provocative, “You” is the perfect way to get to know this multi-faceted singer.  Watch the video Above.
