RZA and 36 Chambers Launch Emperors’ Treasure Collection At The Asian Art Museum In San Fran

RZA and Mustafa Shaikh’s 36 Chambers announced their collaboration with the Asian Art Museum to release the Emperors’ Treasures capsule collection. In celebration of the new line, 36 Chambers and the Asian Art Museum will host an evening filled with fashion, music, art and insightful dialogue on Thursday, September 21st from 6PM to 9PM. The Asian Art Museum is located at 200 Larkin St., San Francisco, CA 94102. The collection will be available to the masses with its launch on www.36chambers.com on Friday, September 22nd at 11AM EST.

Our collection spans 6,000 years, countless cultures, and has inspired generations of artists – including the stylish folks from 36 Chambers. We are delighted that they found creative new ways to share their passion for Asian art through the universal language of fashion,” said Asian Art Museum director Jay Xu.

The Asian Art Museum’s store will host a 36 Chambers pop-up, which will be the first time the collection will be made available to the public. Other highlights for the evening will be a conversation between RZA and Jeff Chang of Stanford’s Institute for Diversity in the Arts, the special premiere of a new track from “Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues,”—the new album from DJ Mathematics, executive produced by RZA on 36 Chambers ALC due in stores on October 13, 2017—and a performance from the dancers at MVMNT Studio.

RZA states, “The Asian Art Museum has given us an informative glimpse into the vast history and culture of Asian life. Since our company is primarily inspired by Asian culture, the exhibit intrigued us to design a line that was truly indicative of an Asian lifestyle.”

Creative Director Mustafa Shaikh continues, “We came to this partnership through our appreciation of the Emperors’ Treasures collection. Naturally we felt it was only right that the first place we presented our collection is where we were first inspired: the Asian Art Museum.”
