Tekashi 6ix9ine Talks His Look, Growing Up in Bushwick Brooklyn & More in Unreleased Beats 1 Interview – Listen Here!

Tekashi 6ix9ine in an unreleased interview with Beats 1 talks about the things that molded him into who he became. The currently incarcerated artist’ whose debut album Dummy Boy dropped last week and debuted at #2 on Billboard 200 had a lot to say prior to blowing up. In the unreleased Beat 1 interview which will air in its entirety this Sunday, Tekashi talks about his upbringing in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, struggling as an upcoming artist, being locked up, his look and more.

In a released transcript of the upcoming Beats 1 interview, the star states, “I remember when I was in jail and I came to court and they would blow up my music video on a 16-inch screen and they were like, ‘This is the kid we want on our streets influencing the youth?’ and there would be me next to heroin user, shooting up heroin. But that wasn’t me saying, ‘Here, go try it.’ This was me showing the youth don’t let society paint this picture for you of, ‘Oh, Come to Bushwick. It’s nice. It’s gentrified. All these hipsters moving in and it’s cops on every corner,” he told the hosts. “I want to show you where I grew up and why I’m molded the way I am. Why I look the way I look. This is how I grew up.”
