The 1865 Shouts A Crucial Message With Their New Video For “Get Out”

The 1865’s video for their single “Get Out”, out today, uses the band’s signature punk influence along with shocking images to bring weight to the message of the song. The name of the band itself derives from America post the 1865 Emancipation and the intention of their music is to stir meaningful conversation surrounding the political climate of modern America – this video displays exactly that. True to the purpose of punk, The 1865 shouts an important message through heavy guitar riffs and deadpan lyrics. Portraying a combination of disturbing cartoon and real life black face clips, the video is an ode  to Jordan Peele’s debut film and political commentary Get Out. The 1865 aren’t afraid to make their opinions known and their video for “Get Out” is a powerful reminder to wake up – full of “RAGE, JOY, SADNESS, MELANCHOLY, SOME HUMOR AND LOTS OF THRASHING.” The 1865’s social justice motivated album Don’t Tread on We! Is out now!
