The loafers the legendary Michael Jackson wore when he did the moonwalk for the first time during his performance of “Billie Jean” at the 25th anniversary of Motown tribute in 1983, is scheduled to hit the auction block. GWS Auctions announced that Michael Jackson’s memorabilia including his black Florsheim loafers he did the moonwalk in, his red Dior cardigan, personally embellished by Bill Whitten, and his Swarovski-encrusted riding helmet are all scheduled for auction.
The auction is scheduled to take place on May 26 at the Hilton in Universal City with a public exhibition beginning at 8 am. There is no word on whether the sale will benefit a charity or if it’s to take care of matters relating to Michael Jackson’s estate.
