The New Negroes with Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle shares season one soundtrack

Right after the two-episode season finale, The New Negroes  shares the soundtrack for season one of Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle’s Comedy Central show. The soundtrack will include the show’s opening theme along with the eight original songs featured on the show whose music videos closed out the weekly episodes. “Unfiltered” featuring Danny Brown, “Police Myself” featuring MF Doom, “Woke As Me” featuring Phonte, “Extra Consent” featuring Lizzo, “Lit” featuring Father, “Eat Your Feelings” featuring Method Man and Video Dave, “Racism 2.0” featuring Sammus, and “Heaven Application” featuring Phonte as Percy Miracles.

The New Negroes with Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle is a socially aware stand-up and music series showcasing a collection of new and established comedians and musicians. Each episode will include an original music video, with the show’s talent including Lizzo, Danny Brown, Method Man, and more. According to Vaughn and  Eagle, the pair took inspiration for the series and title from the term “New Negro,” as popularized during the  Harlem Renaissance, referring to Black Americans speaking up, telling their own stories, and affirming their  various identities to dismantle outdated assumptions and beliefs.
