The Voice Season 8’s Kelsie May Honored By Kentucky With Section Of The Country Music Highway – Details Here!

Kelsie May, the Louisa, Kentucky native who made a name for herself as a contestant on NBC’s The Voice (Season 8 / Team Blake), was honored by Kentucky State Representative Jill York recently, who dedicated a section of the Country Music Highway (HWY 23 in Eastern Kentucky) in May’s honor.

“There are a lot of reasons to have your eyes on young people today,” Rep. York said, standing adjacent to Kelsie May during the ceremony. “This young lady beside us – with her talent, with her faith, with her drive – and the abilities she has to tell the stories of our families, our regions, and our patrons in Eastern Kentucky…this is the one. This is the positive note. And that is why this makes her so special, and so very worthy of celebrating.”

Kelsie recently signed with Blue Sapphire Music, distributed through Sony RED/The Orchard, and recently released her latest single “Driving” July 6th.

Singing all her life, but not landing on stage until the mere age of thirteen, Kelsie has already contributed remarkable light into the Country Music world. After quickly being introduced to Bernard Porter, President and Founder of PCG Nashville, she was invited to train at the coveted and leading artist development company in Nashville, Tennessee.

“East Kentucky, a land of natural resources, is also an area rich in natural talent,” says Bernard Porter, President and Founder of PCG Nashville. “Kelsie May represents this state encompassing all that makes it special! She is a true Kentucky gem!”
