Rapper/ actor DMX was released from prison this morning (Jan 25) after serving a year for tax evasion. The star was originally scheduled to be released from West Virginia’s Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution on Sunday but was released today based on federal policy. Part of DMX`s release agreement includes paying $2.3 million in restitution. He is required to also enter a program for drug abuse and mental health.
X is expected to head to the studio after a few days rest to begin recording an album he wrote while incarcerated. He’s also expected to sign an agreement to do a biopic based on his life and career. We’ll keep you posted.
