Most recently, Leela James collaborated with The Truth Band on the new EP Are You Ready?, which features the buzzing lead single “That Woman” (click here).  Elias Leight from RollingStone.com explains “Lead single “That Woman” is a vicious, extended crescendo: The singer and a three-piece rock group buck and crash and then retreat, only to return a moment later with redoubled vigor.” Leela debuted “That Woman” at the inaugural Black Girls Rock! Festival that was held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on March 10. Her performance electrified the crowd with the lyrics, “I’m not ‘that woman’/You know my name/Don’t start this fire/You’ll go down in flames.”
