American Apparal is well known for generating controversy when it comes to ads. Their last ad featured a 62-year old woman modeling for their underwear line. Now they released a new ad and it’s already generating a lot of press.

The brand’s new ad features a 22-year old topless former-Muslim model from Bangladesh named Maks. She was born in Dhaka, but has lived in California ever since she moved to the United States with her family at the age of 4. She is currently a merchandiser for the retail giant.

She is topless front and center with the words Made in Bangladesh printed across her chest. She’s covered up to the top of her breasts, but the message is quite visual in this new ad. American Apparel sure knows how to get press talking.
