Since the apparent success of Black Panther, Hollywood big wigs have been scrambling for more creative efforts from Black film makers, writers, actors and more. In this hustle mode, Antoine Fuqua was called in by Universal big wigs to discuss the remake of the legendary 1983 movie “Scarface”. The job was given to Antoine Fuqua initially but then David Ayer was tapped to take over. But after some rethinking Fuqua is back at the helm.

The current script is written by David Ayer (Suicide Squad), Jonathan Herman and Joel & Ethan Coen (“No Country for Old Men”, “Fargo”).

The movie was scheduled to be released on August 10, 2018 but its release date has now been pushed back.
