It’s official, “Black Panther” the movie has generated over $1 billion in box office sales worldwide and is the #1 movie in the country for the fourth consecutive week. That’s 100 million, $100 million. For Disney’s big wigs its a bitter sweet pill because Black Panther is number #1 and has generated over a billion dollars but their highly anticipated movie, “A Wrinkle in Time,” is performing below expectations by coming in at #10 opening weekend.

The overall record breaking performance of Black Panther has also put an added pressure on Hollywood to be more creative and to be more diverse in their approach to movie making. This could mean more jobs and opportunities for Blacks in Hollywood to continue to show their talents and their level of creativity without any obstructions.

Black Panther became a billion dollar movie after its debut this weekend in China, making it the 16th movie in the Disney catalog to break the billion dollar mark. Its continuous record breaking U.S. sales has made the film one of the top 10 highest-grossing domestic movies ever.
