Today, France’s Brodinski is back to share a new film. “Split” is directed by LA-based director Pavel Brenner, produced by Couscous Saumon and features Gucci Mane understudy Peewee Longway in a “Pimp My Ride”-inspired visual. “Split” is the first offering from a forthcoming Brodinski EP.
“Split” finds a common thread between two very distinct places, the modern streets of Los Angeles and the 1990’s in Eastern Europe: the love for tuned-up cars with powerful sound systems. The visual’s narrative of revenge is propelled by the song’s pounding bassline, which was directly influenced by Brodinski’s interest in Los Angeles’ car-tuning obsession. He married that idea with Brenner’s memories of watching cars roll down the street blasting their speakers on the streets of Eastern Europe in the ’90s to create the visual for “Split.”
