Brown Sugar Celebrates Pam Grier’s 70th Birthday in May
Brown Sugar, the popular subscription video on demand service from Bounce, is honoring both Moms and the “Mother of Badass” – the legendary Pam Grier – in May.
“Foxy Brown” herself turns 70 this month and Brown Sugar is celebrating with a curated collection of Grier cult classics including Coffy, Sheba, Baby and Friday Foster, along with newer Grier titles such as The Big Bird Cage, The Big Doll House and Women in Cages.
For Mother’s Day, Brown Sugar offers ” Brown Sugar Mamas,” a collection of films featuring strong Mother figures, including: My Other Mother (Lynn Whitfield, Jasmine Guy), Grandma’s House (Wendy Raquel Robinson, Loretta Devine), Down in the Delta (Loretta Devine, Wesley Snipes) and Holiday Heart(Alfre Woodard, Ving Rhames).
