Celebrity Chef Patrick Hits The Food Network – Details Here!
Chef Patrick wears his heart on his sleeve, and he isn’t afraid to show this side of himself. He is now establishing the Simpson Culinary Institute in hopes of giving back to his hometown of Ocho Rios by providing others with the opportunity to follow a similar career path. When he was growing up in Jamaica, he came face to face with the reality of food insecurity. Often when it came time for dinner, a young Wenford Patrick Simpson would find his mother away working, and a bare fridge. Despite not having much to work with, he managed to care for his younger sister by cooking up dishes from whatever he could find, and that’s when he discovered spices would not only come in handy but also prove quite transformative.
This time in his life led to an innate sense of compassion and a great appreciation for culinary exploration in general which blossomed into cooking as an opportunity. This inspired him to make a line of cooking flavorings and other accessories once he became established. What started as necessity evolved into a passion that gave way for tapping into Chef Patrick’s talent and grew into caring for so many. After moving to New York and becoming the executive chef at hotspot Negril Village, he was in a position to purchase and donate items to school kitchens back home.
Chef Patrick creates uniquely inspired dishes developed through the exploration out of the culinary arts with a dash of flavor drawn from life experiences. His professional career started as a high school intern at Club Caribbean hotel, and soon after that, he excelled at resort style culinary arts which became useful during his time as a sous chef for cruise lines. Today his role is entirely different he has the clout and recognition required for elevating his brand with high visibility appearances like his show on TEMPO TV called Cook-Up with Chef Patrick. He has cooked for some very famous names and is known for his refreshing approach to cooking and pleasant demeanor in the workplace.
