Last month, French luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin launched a new collection called, “The Nudes,” which includes five different shades of nude colors, ranging from fair to dark.
“Nude” shoes, as the name implies, are meant to match a woman’s natural skin tone, to create a beautiful extension of the legs. Most women, however, cannot find a nude shoe to match the color of their skin. To solve this problem, Louboutin was inspired to create this luscious spectrum of creams, caramels, and rich mochas.
Louboutin describes the collection as magical, stating on his website, “The shoes disappear like magic and become a fluid extension of the woman’s legs, as in a sketch, elongating the silhouette,” he said.
To help women find their perfect nude shoe, there is an app available on the iTunes app store, called Louboutin Shades that takes a photo of your foot and then uses shade detection technology to match your skin tone to one of the five shoe shades.
“The Nudes” collection is available exclusively at Christian Louboutin boutiques.
