Former Patriots Star Aaron Hernandez Found Not Guilty on Murder Charges
New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was acquitted on charges he committed a double murder in 2012. The trial was held in a Suffolk Superior Court where Hernandez faced charges for killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in a drive-by shooting in Boston’s South End in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012. The decision is seen as Aaron Hernandez’s first significant victory since he was arrested on another murder charge in June 2013 for which he is currently serving a life without parole.
