Jay-Z has replaced Diddy as Forbes’ richest hip-hop star. Diddy topped the list in 2017 but in 2018, Jay-z has come from second place on the list to becoming the richest hip hop star with $900 million. The increase in Jay’s income is credited to another wise investment that he made. His investments this time was in Arman de Brignac and D’Usse cognac. Another contributing factor to more money was Jay’s label Roc Nation and his streaming service Tidal.

The list goes as follows.

1) Jay-Z at $900 million

2) Diddy at $825 million, from investments in DeLeon Tequila, beverage company Diago, Revolt TV and Ciroc vodka.

3) Dr. Dre at $770 million, from Apple’s purchase of his Beats headphone line. Dre could also potentially be #1 in 2019 after he gets his next round of Apple stock.

4) Drake at &100 million, from his music and investments in Virginia Black whiskey, his expensive estates in Toronto, Canada, and in Hidden Hills, California.

5) Eminem at $100 million, from his best-selling albums and his current album “Revival”.
