Steve Madden stepped out of his circle of fashion and into the hip hop arena in the midst of beef and now he’s being chin checked. Next the sales of his iconic Steve Madden shoe brand may start to suffer. The entire incident was between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, when the latter bragged about her Curated by Cardi Collection shoe deal with Steve Madden, the former fired back. Nicki stated that she was offered the deal numerous times and turned it down. See detail here here.

Steve Madden then took to his social media and called Nicki a liar in a post captioned, “@NICKIMINAJ you can’t turn down an offer that was never made. #StopLying.”

At that point 50 Cent and Iggy Azalea came to Nicki’s rescue. 50 posted an interview from 2015 in which Steve Madden talked about pursuing Nicki for a shoe deal. Then Iggy took to her social media and called Steve Madden a “f*uck boy”, followed by a post supporting Nicki’s claims. In the post she stated, “I’m not on no one side but Steve lying like shit.” See details here.

With all the evidence on the table proving Nicki Manaj right in the first place, the fans of all three stars jumped in trolling Steve Madden and letting him have it. Some went as far as to call him “fatso” others threatened not to buy his shoes anymore. Steve Madden then quickly came to his senses and issued an apology to Nicki Minaj in a post captioned, “@NICKIMINAJ is an incredibly talented artist but we couldn’t work together cuz the timing wasn’t right,” he tweeted. “@iamcardib came on the scene and I had a fantastic collaboration with her, and she is also an amazing talent. I love both @NICKIMINAJ and @iamcardib music. I hope they can reach some peace — together they could probably take over the world. There is a lot of negativity out there right now, and I shouldn’t have contributed to that.”

Nice apology right? Wrong. Nicki kept firing in a post captioned, “Eat a dick nigga. You lied on me cuz it was the trendy thing 2do! Ain’t nobody buyin that clown shit. We couldn’t work together cuz I said the shoes were ugly. You see how when you do clownery it comes back to bite? WE NOT BUYING IT!!!!!! Respond to 50 instead of picking on women.”

It is certain, there will be more to come as Steve Madden has seemingly threw up the white flag and retreated from the fight. Only problem is, fights in hip hop usually don’t end like that but Steve Madden wouldn’t know that. Stay tuned.
