Nicki Minaj new album, Queen was originally scheduled to drop on June 15th then it was pushed back to August 10th. But now even that date could change. The star has released several bangas from the album including “Bed” featuring Ariana Grande, “Chun-Li” and “Rich Sex” featuring Lil Wayne.

But as the momentum to August 10 is growing with the album’s anticipation, there’s a monkey wrench thrown in the machine which could delay it. Nicki Minaj took to social media and revealed to fans that she might have to push the album’s release back from August 10 due to a Tracy Chapman sample. It appears that her label has been unable to get clearance from the icon for the sample used on the record Nicki is referring to. So for now it looks like the release of Queen will either go as planned on August 10th, be delayed until the sample is cleared; or the track in question will be recreated without the sample or dropped from the album. Stay tuned.
