PHOTOS: Rapsody, LeToya Luckett and More Join D’USSÉ Day Party in Houston Celebrating Women in Hip Hop

D’USSÉ Cognac continued its annual event series in Houston with Rapsody, LeToya Luckett and more joined the D’USSÉ Day Party Celebrating Women in Hip Hop.  Ahead of some highly anticipated new music releases, GRAMMY-nominated Roc Nation rapper, Rapsody stepped out to kick Saturday off as the weekend’s official Day Party Houston host to local guests who were treated to a curated D’USSE takeover with specialty cocktails and more.

“The event was amazing,” Rapsody shared. “To come together in Houston, which is one of the major cities that has contributed a lot to hip hop, to think of the women that have come from here, and to celebrate 50 years of that has been amazing. D’USSE is a representation of hip hop, they go hand-in-hand. We went through South music, and I brought east coast music to warm some of my fans up with new music I’ve been working on coming soon this year. It was a beautiful evening. That’s what hip hop was created for: to bring people together to celebrate our individuality and our community and that’s what it felt like here tonight.”

Opening with her fan-favorite tracks, “Whoopi” and “Iconic,” the North Carolina rapper surprised the crowd with an electrifying performance of freestyles over DMX’s “How It’s Going Down” and Method Man’s “You’re All I Need.” Rapsody’s standout performance teases highly-anticipated new music releases to come later this year.

D’USSE Day Party Houston included a bespoke photo moment, vending machine pop ups packed with D’USSE spiked frozen popsicles to beat the summer heat, exclusive tee merchandise, and more. Guests like R&B artist widely known for her role in Destiny’s Child, LeToya Luckett made a special appearance.
