Recap: Amazon Music‘s 50 & Forever event with The Lox, Redman & Methodman and Lola Brooke – Pics here
Amazon Music‘s 50 & Forever show celebrating Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary at Pier 17, was a sight to see for seasoned Hip Hop fans and even for some younger fans that may have been introduced to the genre later on.
The show opened up with Brooklyn’s own Lola Brooke, who came onto the stage with her gritty and energetic bars. The Brooklyn rapper graced the cover of the XXL magazine earlier this year for the 2023 Freshman cover. Lola definitely has a lot of momentum coming in as one of the leading acts out of NYC.
Method man and Redman was the second act to grace the stage, and they did not disappoint. The duo went through their classics going bar for bar, without losing a beat. Any Hip Hop enthusiast would have been greatly satisfied by their performance. To end the night off, Hip Hop’s heavyweight group The Lox, which consists of Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch had the whole event jumping from their punchy street lyrics, and heart pounding beats. The crowd was definitely reminiscent of a time where being lyrical was the top priority, and all attendees were able to witness that from all three acts of the night.
