The NFL and CBS reportedly offered Rihanna the bag if she would agree to perform during the halftime show at the upcoming Super Bowl, taking place in 2019. It didn’t take Riri much time to turn their offer down. The NFL apparently took the rejection as a negotiation tactic and raised the bag. They upped their collective offer with the hopes that the star would agree at best and at worst continue to negotiate.

What they didnt count on was the potential of being completely shut down by Riri. Although Rihanna has not confirmed the reports, its alleged that she turned down the opportunity to perform during the Super Bowl’s halftime show in order to stand in protest with Colin Kaepernick. According to US Weekly. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

The NFL and CBS have already confirmed Maroon 5 and could potentially get Cardi B by default. Cardi may perform during the halftime show because she appears on Maroon 5’s hit song, “Girls Like You.”
