Ironically enough label mates Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj achieved platinum status on the same day. Nicki Minaj released her album Queen last year on August 10th 2018, and a month or so later Lil Wayne released his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V. It was announced that both albums have achieved platinum status.

The platinum certifications took place on Friday with the RIAA’s confirmation that Tha Carter V which gave Lil Wayne his fourth number one album on Billboard 200 and third biggest sales week for an album in 2018 was platinum. The RIAA also certified that Queen which has become Nicki Minaj’s first album not to debut at number one on Billboard 200 went platinum.

Congratulations are in order for Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne’s platinum status!!!
