Like most Holidays as we are now learning, Mother’s Day has a strange history that is now distant and lost in translation to the commercialized day that we now celebrate in its place. History, perhaps rightfully so has credited Ms. Anna Jarvis as the founder of Mother’s Day. Its roots extend from war, its sustainment was maintained through many hard fought battles that almost bankrupted and ruined Ms. Jarvis.
Through it all Ms. Jarvis fought a good fight one reminiscent of a mother’s love and in 1914, President Woodrow Wilson designated the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.
