Wyclef’s Artist Jazzy Amra Drops first Solo Single “Caught Up”

After working on projects alongside hip hop heavyweights like Wyclef Jean and Dave East, upcoming R&B artist and songwriter Jazzy Amra is excited to announce the release of her first single, “Caught Up”.  “Caught Up” is the first single off Jazzy’s first solo mixtape, Amra. Amra which is set to release this fall.

The Bronx-based R&B artist and songwriter draws the majority of her inspiration from artists such as Lauryn Hill, Toni Braxton, and Mary J. Blige. “Caught Up” is a deep reflection of the trials, hard work, and passion it took for Jazzy to pursue her dream of sharing her music with the world. “Creating the record was important to me because I got to shine light on my day to day tribulations,” says Jazzy.

“Some people see the direction my life is headed in and just want to create negativity from that instead of seeing the positive and actually understanding how much work and courage it takes to pursue this kind of career.”

Previously this summer, Jazzy worked alongside Dave East, one of hip hop’s freshest new voices. Jazzy is featured on his track, “Slow Down,” and has her own interlude, “Interlude (Jazzy)” on East’s debut EP, Paranoia: A True Story.

In addition to this previous work, Jazzy also will be featured on two songs from Grammy-winning artist, hip hop legend and mentor Wyclef Jean’s upcoming album, Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee, which will be released September 15. The Carnival III was recently named one of Fall’s 25 Most Anticipated Albums by Billboard.
