Harlem phenom Sugarhill Ddot links with Tallahassee’s rising star Luh Tyler for new single – watch here

Harlem phenom Sugarhill Ddot links with Tallahassee’s rising star Luh Tyler for the blistering new single “3AM In the Yams,” via Priority Records. The teenagers join forces for a New York meets Florida summer anthem. Moving at a rapid drill pace, the song reimagines Miami’s typically laid-back party vibe as a setting. “3AM In the Yams” comes complete with a celebratory nonchalant Rari Digital and Gerard Victor (Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, 42 Dugg) directed video.

The song, produced by Ndup and Ayyolucas, was recorded during a trip Ddot made to Miami when Drake requested that the young star model for his Nocta line. It was there that Ddot linked with Luh Tyler, recorded the track, and took inspiration for his pastel-colored video which captures the teens shopping for kicks, playing video games, and throwing a pool party. The song also samples the 2010 Nicki Minaj and Drake classic “Moment 4 Life.”

“‘3AM In The Yams’ is a song about my first time in Miami,” Ddot says. “I got inspired by the yams’ nightlife. I’ll never forget it. It’s the place where I met 21 Savage and Drake at the bowling alley after Drake invited me to pull up. I meant it when I said in the song ‘It was real when I bumped into Drake’ because he believes in me. Luh Tyler was also right for the song because his energy fit. He’s a good genuine person and we had a lotta fun filming the video game scene in the video.”
