John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are reportedly heated at Kanye West for sharing John Legend’s text messages to him regarding his support for President Donald Trump. John Legend who is a close friend of Kanye sent him the texts after Kanye’s tweets of love and support of Donald Trump stirred controversy and threatened the stars fan base.

John Legend expected that Kanye would reply to him via text. Instead Kanye posted his text on Twitter as an example to his 28 million followers captioned, “I love you John and I appreciate your thoughts. You bringing up my fans or my legacy is a tactic based on fear used to manipulate my free thought.”

The posting and public reply to John Legend’s text got him and his wife very vexed but after a few back and forth tweets and we are sure texts also, they subsequently agreed that their double date dinner Friday (last night) was still on.

Check out John Legend’s full text to Kanye West below.

John Legend text: “Hey it’s JL. I hope you’ll reconsider aligning yourself with Trump. You’re way too powerful and influential to endorse who he is and what he stands for. As you know, what you say really means something to your fans. They are loyal to you and respect your opinion.”

“So many people who love you feel so betrayed right now because they know the harm that Trump’s policies cause, especially to people of colour. Don’t let this be part of your legacy. You’re the greatest artist of our generation.”

Kanye sticking to his concept of free thought replied via Twitter: “I love you John and I appreciate your thoughts. You bringing up my fans or my legacy is a tactic based on fear used to manipulate my free thought.”
